Yes voters need to come out in force tomorrow

DSCF2260Speaking to Yes campaigners in Clare recently, Sinn Féin MEP Liadh Ní Riada called for a resounding ‘Yes’ vote in the Marriage Equality referendum and urged voters to come out in force in tomorrow’s referendum.

Ní Riada said;

“This referendum is about equality. At its core it is about ensuring all people, and all couples, have access to equal rights, dignity and respect.

I want to make a special appeal to those who are undecided in how they will vote in Friday’s Marriage referendum and to those who out of fear or worry are veering towards voting against the amendment.

On Friday you will have the opportunity to vote in a secret ballot. How you choose to vote will have a huge impact on loving couples all across Ireland. Your vote can bring so much joy to these couples, and to loving couples for generations to come. Liadh raises proposal for a Single Boat Payment with EU Fisheries Commissioner

FisheriesFollowing a productive meeting in Strasbourg with Commissioner Vella, Liadh Ní Riada Sinn Féin MEP for Ireland-South has welcomed a breakthrough with Sinn Féin’s proposed ‘Single Boat Payment’ scheme that was recently passed at the Sinn Féin Ard Fheis.

Karmenu Vella the European Commissioner for Fisheries, in a recent meeting with Ní Riada, commended the proposal and agreed that such a scheme will be beneficial to many hard-pressed fishermen and that it will be strongly considered by the European Commission.
