Liadh raises proposal for a Single Boat Payment with EU Fisheries Commissioner

FisheriesFollowing a productive meeting in Strasbourg with Commissioner Vella, Liadh Ní Riada Sinn Féin MEP for Ireland-South has welcomed a breakthrough with Sinn Féin’s proposed ‘Single Boat Payment’ scheme that was recently passed at the Sinn Féin Ard Fheis.

Karmenu Vella the European Commissioner for Fisheries, in a recent meeting with Ní Riada, commended the proposal and agreed that such a scheme will be beneficial to many hard-pressed fishermen and that it will be strongly considered by the European Commission.
